Went back to the alma mater in Saskatoon last weekend to partake in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the oldest student social society on the U of S campus, the Ore Gangue. It was started by some farsighted (and probably alcohol deprived) geological students in 1934. Many field trips and ingenious ways to imbibe in a pseudo-social setting have ensued since.
