Noon today was the deadline for the the contest run by Swerve, the magazine insert in the Friday Herald, for an iconic Calgary photo. After some hemming and hawing, I submitted the above image. I felt it wasn't stereotypical, and told a story (the sandstone boulders on Nose Hill are reminders of the early building blocks of downtown Calgary).
